(26 Aug 2020) CAREY MULLIGAN IS CONCERNED ABOUT THE INDIE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY
Carey Mulligan is confident the film industry will find a way to navigate the pandemic safety protocols soon, but she’s deeply worried about smaller productions.
“The people I know are working or starting to work now, and they seem to have lots of sort of very stringent sort of mechanisms in place to keep the cast and crew safe. So I think, you know, the film industry will, you know, slowly but surely kind of find its way back to being able to work through this,” she said in a recent interview.
However, she is concerned about the effect the lockdown has had on regional venues and live events workers.
“Lots of friends that I know who work in the West End, who work in regional theater – dressers, crew, people who, you know, keep the lights on, people who work in sort of the administrative jobs across all of those things. I think that’s where, you know, people are feeling very kind of concerned and where the most support is sort of needed at the moment.
